My Fishing Trips

Fly Fishing Scopan Stream

March 2, 2017 by JWood Leave a Comment

I became an avid fly angler during my years out West, so it was tough to return to Maine where the fishing season ends September 30th.  Fortunately, one body of flowing water was open to fishing near home, and almost nobody else fishes it, so I had it to myself. It's a tailwater without much habitat except for the short stretch near the dam, where the stocked fish stack up … [Read more...] about Fly Fishing Scopan Stream

Fly Fishing for Hatchery Salmon

March 2, 2017 by JWood Leave a Comment

I had to get out and fish a while this afternoon and I'm glad I did.  The fly fishing was a real stress reliever, as it tends to be.  I'd been a little frustrated with lack of success on the river over the past few days, so I really wanted to get back … [Read more...] about Journal Entry 5/11/12

Time off to Fish

May 24, 2011 by JWood Leave a Comment

I picked Nick up at the Billings airport in the wake of a coming rain storm that would last for four days … [Read more...] about Time off to Fish
